The Emperor's New Clothes

Hans Christian Andersen of Wonderful, Wonderful, Copenhagen.

What a visionary he was, writing “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, the perfect allegory for today’s self serving “Global Warming Carpetbaggers” ready to reveal their recycled “new clothes” at Cancun Mexico.

Remember how the story ends guys.  Lots of embarrassment and retreat to the Castle (sweet reason).
Here is my contemporary take on this timeless tale.

An Emperor (Al Gore) who cares for nothing but his wardrobe, hires two weavers (a cabal of climate scientists) who promise him the finest suit of clothes (green ideology f eels good) from a fabric (Global Circulation Models) invisible to anyone (the public) who is unfit for his position (High Priest of the Church of Global Warming) or "just hopelessly stupid" (deniers). The Emperor cannot see the cloth himself, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing unfit for his position or stupid; his ministers (western politicians) do the same. When the swindlers (government funded scientists) report that the suit is finished (IPCC Report), they dress him in mime (carbon climate thermostat) and the Emperor then marches in procession (to Copenhagen) before his subjects (the mainstream media). A child in the crowd (climate gate hacker) calls out that the Emperor is wearing nothing at all and the cry is taken up by others (the public begin to snigger). The Emperor cringes, suspecting the assertion is true, but holds himself up proudly and continues the procession (to Cancun).
